Venetian Gondolas

I love to explore the labyrinthine canal walks and bridges in Venice, photographing the reflections in the water as gondolas quietly glide past, to me it is the most beautiful city in the world. Photographing at the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020 for the Carnivale I experienced low numbers of tourists. The city seemed deserted, quiet and ancient, I left the day after the Carnival was cancelled, home to Australia and two years of lockdowns in my home city Melbourne.
